Food and Restaurants

Since the beaches and resorts are a bit far from the center of Punta Cana, most hotels are already all-inclusive, which generally means that it has all the stuff you might need for a trip. The list includes a sandy beach, a swimming pool, some recreational rooms and of course, restaurants and bars. And one of the best things of having a restaurant in an all-inclusive hotel is that there are a lot of varieties to choose from - beef, chicken, pork, fish and all other kinds of seafood, and vegetables. Also, try all the different types of restaurants - Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Asian, European and steaming Caribbean delicacies.

Local food is a mix of Spanish and the original local influences of Taino Indian cooking. Asian cuisines are also served hot and rich in spices that are truly matched to the tropical atmosphere of Punta Cana beaches.

Seafood is particularly one that is never missed in all restaurants in the area. One recommended place is Capitan Cook, an open place where seafood barbecue is best eaten with your bare hands while watching the waves just a few meters away. Fresh lobster and shrimp are served at Jellyfish, a two-level restaurant, also with a view of the Punta Cana beach just a few yards away. A former visitor of the place shares, "The lobsters are split on the top and pushed together for a beautiful presentation".
